Outrageous night raises over $100,000 for Anglicare WA

Saturday March 29 was THE night to be outrageous as over 600 guests flocked to the Burswood Entertainment Complex Grand Ballroom for The Peet Op Shop Ball for Anglicare WA.

Amongst glamorous 80s dresses, safari suits, wedding dresses and outrageous ‘fashion statements’ were quirky, colourful Op Shop creations.

Guests were welcomed along the green carpet, through rustic gates and pillars into a bright colourful giant garden themed Ballroom.

The reason behind this outrageous gathering was simple; to raise funds to support the 30,000 West Australians in need, through the work of Anglicare WA. This goal was well and truly achieved with over $100,000 raised on the night.

Hosted by Network Ten’s Narelda Jacobs and Michael Schultz, the evening was outrageous and fun from the first moment.

‘The Bad Piper’ Cam Mcazie set the scene for the night with his opening bagpipe performance of AC/DC’s Long Way to the Top, while The Australian Bee Gees Show – Stayin Alive and The Hit Factory ensured the dance floor was packed all night.

Chairman of The Op Shop Ball, Ian Craig stated that the generosity and enthusiasm of sponsors and guests was overwhelming.

“We have been blown away again this year by the very generous support of our sponsors and guests. The support in the lead up to the Ball and on the night has been fantastic and it was terrific to see that everyone had gone to such an enormous effort to create their ‘outrageous’ Op Shop creations,” Mr Craig said.
