Community Parks Project

"Safe Family Fun and Friendship"

The Community Parks Projects provides free activities in the parks of Balga , Girrawheen , Koondoola , Mirrabooka and Westminster for children aged 0 - 12 years, their siblings and families.

The project aims to engage community members, local community groups and councils in creating regular activities in safe and clean parks. The Community Parks Project provides opportunities for children to enhance their physical and social skills and encourage cultural awareness and connection.

Activities provided by the Community Parks Project typically include games, sporting activities, bikes, balls, ropes, craft, construction and imaginative play equipment. All events are supported by qualified staff who seek to provide educationally age appropriate tasks; they also support families by providing resources and materials on children's health and development and family related matters.

Parks are a rich asset of our multicultural West Australian community. We want to use parks to create opportunities for children and their families to have a more active lifestyle and increase community interaction, connection and friendships.

Our parks are an extension of our backyards – with opportunities limited only by our imaginations!
