Y-shac Youth Supported Housing and Crisis Accommodation
Anglicare WA 's Y-shac program provides emergency, crisis and transitional supported accommodation, designed to assist homeless young people find somewhere to live immediately and to move into stable living arrangements.
We assist 15 - 20 year old young people who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness with emergency and crisis accommodation.
As a young person you may find yourself, or know someone else, in need of emergency accommodation for a number of reasons:
- Unstable home or family life,
- Family or relationship breakdown,
- Eviction or unmanageable rising living costs,
- Risk of, or exposure to, crime, drugs or violence, or
- No money or loss of steady income.

What We Offer
- Y-SHAC offers shared emergency accommodation in two locations and 24 hour support of youth workers,
- Support for young people to get back on their feet, including advocacy, support and referral to specialist services.
- Independent living activities including financial planning/budgeting, tenancy information, health and nutrition and cooking.
- Goal setting and future planning through case management,
- Creative youth recreational activities,
- A Drug Education and Support Service: Harm minimisation focused alcohol and drug education, through group activities and 1 to 1 support.
Spearwood
Our Spearwood crisis accommodation site is a three bed emergency accommodation facility, providing short stays and quick admissions.
Rockingham
This site is a six bed crisis accommodation facility, for up to 3 males and 3 females, providing accommodation for up to three months.
How to Apply – Crisis Accommodation
1. You and/or your support worker contact the relevant service location (Spearwood or Rockingham).
2. If we have a vacancy we will conduct a phone interview with you.
3. If we are able to accommodate you, we will agree on arrangements for you to get to the service.
