The Fostering Futures Team
The Fostering Futures team – is just that – a team. Caring for young people is about teamwork – we all have an important role that is recognised and supported within Fostering Futures .
The staff in Fostering Futures are social workers, carer support worker, mentors and administration support, along with a dedicated and committed group of foster carers who make up the rest of the team. Together we are responsible for providing a safe and secure home environment for the children and young people who come to our service.
Our focus is responding to children and young people, and their care needs, by working together to make a difference. Staff maintain regular contact with the foster carers, young people and the case worker assigned by the Department for Child Protection (DCP). The contact can be a home visit, a telephone call or an e-mail. Our aim is always to ensure that the care needs of the child or young person are acknowledged and that the foster carers are supported in responding to these needs.
Our success in working together is exemplified by the comments and feedback that we receive from the young people who have come into our service – here are just a few examples:
“There is no way I could ever pay her (the foster carer) back for the loving care and kindness”
“I really loved being there because I felt they were my closest friends”
“There wasn't much wrong – actually nothing wrong – I had lots of fun here”
“Thank-you for finding these foster carers for me – they are like my second family”
“Most of the time I spent there was good and they made an effort to care for me”
Our vision is always to provide quality care to children and young people. We achieve this through the active participation and collaboration of staff with the Fostering Futures carers to respond to the care needs of children and young people.
