Kimberley Sexual Assault/Abuse Counselling Service
The Kimberley Sexual Assault/Abuse Counselling Service (KSAACS) provide t herapeutic assistance for victims of sexual assault and abuse in the West and East Kimberley .
Children and young people can access Kimberley Sexual Assault/Abuse Counselling Service with parental, guardian or departmental permission.
People may seek help for a variety of reasons which may include:
- Experiencing problems in their personal life
- Difficulties in their relationships
- Violence in the family, and
- Difficulty coping with life
Counsellors also deliver group work programmes and community education initiatives around sexual assault and abuse.
Regular schedules of outreach travel in both the West and East Kimberley ensures that people in remote Aboriginal communities can use this service too.
Cost
Kimberley Sexual Assault/Abuse Counselling Services are provided to clients and communities free of charge
Referrals
Requests for support can come from the client, a family member or carer, or be made via a referral from another agency. Communities can ask for education initiatives
