Pregnant and New Mums Support Program

The Pregnant and New Mums Support Program provides assistance and advocacy for at risk women who are pregnant or have children. Support varies from person to person, but will always aim to support you and your child or children.

What is the Pregnant and New Mums Support Program?

The Pregnant and New Mums Support Program provides assistance and advocacy for at-risk women up to 25 years old, who are pregnant or have children.

Risk factors that may qualify someone for the service include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Age and developmental stage of the young mum
  • Level of family, partner and other supports during pregnancy and initial stages of parenting
  • Presence of social and emotional wellbeing concerns
  • Safety concerns and domestic violence

The program offers outreach, where a worker may meet you at a place you feel comfortable, or you can come into the office location. During these sessions, the worker may provide information and support, referral to other services, advocacy and informal counselling. The program may provide an opportunity for you and your children to have fun and meet other young parents through playgroups and community activities.
