Acting chief executive for Anglicare WA, Mark Glasson, has wasted no time in writing to Premier-elect Mark McGowan to congratulate him on forming government.
Mr Glasson said the incoming government faced some tough times ahead with a weak economy, significant debt and the nation’s highest unemployment rate.
“This is a challenge for any government, but Anglicare WA urges our MPs to keep a focus on the most marginalised in our community, especially in the hard times,” Mr Glasson said.
Anglicare WA is seeking a meeting with the new Premier and his relevant Ministers at the first opportunity.
“We are here to offer the government our best research, advice and advocacy to help shape the right policy outcomes for the most vulnerable in our communities.”
Mr Glasson said Anglicare WA enjoyed a good relationship with the outgoing Barnett government and was confident this would continue with the McGowan Government.
