Coronavirus (COVID-19) changes to events

To help limit the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), Anglicare WA may have to change event times and locations, or cancel an event.  We will advise registered attendees of any changes to event scheduling as they occur.

As part of these adjustments, we will need to keep a record of attendance to in-person events, including contact details of the attendees. If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms before the event, we ask that you inform us.

These adjustments will help to ensure the health and safety of people accessing our events plus our staff.

Anglicare WA 23 Adelaide Terrace Perth, WA 6004

This workshop will introduce participants to basic listening skills to meet the immediate needs of a person in a state of crisis.

Accidental Counsellors are people who may not have formal qualifications, but find they are placed in a counselling as a result of requests for help from family, friends, colleagues, and others around them.

This workshop is not an introductory counselling course, but rather will prepare participants to respond appropriately when a person presents as distressed.

Topics covered by this workshop include:

  • Situational assessment
  • Qualities of effective listeners
  • Limit setting and boundaries
  • Responding in a crisis
  • Debriefing and self care.
