With funding from the WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA, WA Country PHN), Anglicare WA suggested an alternative model of headspace delivery - one which involved mobile outreach in order to provide additional mental health services that were so desperately needed in the region.
This model was also supported by the headspace National Youth Mental Health Foundation with the pilot commencing in May. With staff based in Newman, Port Hedland and Karratha, the innovative approach means that our counsellors and support staff will be out in the field, taking their counselling and psychology skills to where it’s needed across the wide geographic region.
Working together with existing health and community services our team will focus on meeting young people’s wellbeing needs.
