Mending the hearts of young people

The Young Hearts program is a domestic violence counselling service for children, dedicated to breaking the cycle of family and domestic violence. We are so thankful for the support that allows this vital service to continue to help children in need.

Austal Sausage Sizzle

Austal

Austal, a long-time supporter of our Young Hearts program, recently hosted a staff sausage sizzle to raise awareness of family and domestic violence and encourage further fundraising for the program. More than 830 sausages were turned by Anglicare WA staff and volunteers along with some eager young residents from Foyer Oxford, lending a hand. A fantastic $2,616 was raised.

We thank Austal for their ongoing commitment to our Young Hearts program as they partner with us to make positive changes in our community.

Hear from our staff

Lisa, Young Hearts

We would like you to meet Lisa who began with Anglicare WA more than 6 years ago, in our Young Hearts program in Mandurah and Rockingham. Lisa has had the privilege of hearing many stories from clients experiencing domestic violence and helping them work this through and move into positive relationships.

“I love to see the positive change we bring to the most vulnerable people in our community. Most of our clients have lost trust in people, the systems and in life. We walk alongside them in times of need, helping to rebuild that trust and empower them to move forward.” Lisa and her team play an important role at Anglicare WA and we are grateful for their service and support of the community."
