What is Family Dispute Resolution
Family Dispute Resolution is offered through registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners. We help separated families to sort out their disputes, particularly in relation to the children. The Family Dispute Resolution process involves a number of sessions including:
- Initial appointment, to identify the issues within the family and determine if Family Dispute Resolution is suitable
- Attendance at a Child First educational group
- Attendance at a preparation for Family Dispute Resolution (pre-FDR) session
- Attendance at the joint Family Dispute Resolution session
- For many families, children will also be included in the Family Dispute Resolution process through meeting with the Child Inclusive Practitioner
- Property mediation
