Supporting Aboriginal Families to Grow Their Good Life
Operating from 42 Wilson Street, Kalgoorlie, the Sunshine Project works alongside families engaged in the Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) to provide additional, tailored support that helps them grow their version of a “Good Life.”
Program Goals
- Empower families to define and pursue their own version of a good life
- Strengthen family functioning and community connection
- Provide culturally safe, strengths-based support that fosters healing and growth

Relational Coaching
A dedicated Sunshine Coach works with each family over an 18-month period to identify their goals and take meaningful steps toward achieving them.Family-centered planning
Each family develops a personalised plan that typically includes meeting basic needs, healing and emotional wellbeing, strengthening community connections, finding purpose and contributing to community life.Empowerment Through Stages
Support is gradually reduced as families build confidence and strengthen their natural support networks, promoting long-term independence and resilience.Aboriginal families in the Goldfields region and families in the HIPPY Program – including both adults and children.
