Our Commitment
At Anglicare WA, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.
We are committed to creating safe, welcoming, and empowering environments for people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, genders, and cultures. Through dedicated action plans and working groups, we continue to strengthen our support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ communities, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Our goal is to ensure that everyone feels respected, valued, and able to thrive within our services and the wider community

Access and Inclusion
The Access and Inclusion Working Group at Anglicare WA continues to take action and deliver initiatives that build on our culture of inclusion.
In early 2024, the Access and Inclusion Working Group launched our second Disability Action Plan, "Accessibility in Action", focusing on workforce capacity building (including exploring neurodivergence), enhancing accessibility via a variety of discrete projects, intersectionality, collaboration and partnerships.
There are six identified outcome areas which form the basis of our plan:
- Service and event accessibility
- Premises and facilities
- Communication and information
- Skills and knowledge
- Consultation and feedback
- Employment and workplace adjustments
Anglicare WA has a continued commitment to further improving the inclusion and wellbeing of workers, participants and clients with disability and neurodivergence. It also aims to support people with disability and those who share their lives to feel engaged and empowered within the wider community.

LGBTQIA+
The Rainbow Network at Anglicare WA continues to enhance LGBTQIA+ inclusion through ongoing action and the delivery of initiatives that build on our culture of LGBTQIA+ inclusion.
Early 2024, the Rainbow Network launched the second LGBTQIA+ Action Plan, "Rainbow in Action," focusing on workforce capacity building, enhancing LGBTQIA+ inclusion via a variety of discrete projects, intersectionality, collaboration and partnerships.

Culturally and Linguistically Diverse
Anglicare WA is committed to providing supportive and culturally safe and inclusive environments for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and so we value the contribution of our Culturally and Linguistically Diverse CaLD Working Group.
We recognise the contributions of our multicultural communities and value the lived experiences they bring. Anglicare WA's first Cultural Diversity Plan, “Cultural Diversity in Action”, was developed by the CaLD Working Group and focuses on people from migrant backgrounds. It includes initiatives to explore cultural diversity nuances, celebrate our workforce's diversity, and initiates discussions about CaLD community experiences in Australia.
The plan recognises the similarities and differences between the experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and those from migrant backgrounds, aiming to unpack these experiences collaboratively.
