Empowering Futures
Foyer Youth Housing projects have had significant success nationally and internationally in providing the right mix of support, housing and opportunity to allow young people experiencing homelessness to thrive beyond formal supports.
Inspired by the success of Foyer Youth Housing projects worldwide, a consortium of Anglicare WA, Foundation Housing, and Nirrumbuk Aboriginal Corporation proposed a Foyer development in Broome, Western Australia.
Recognising the unique needs of the Kimberley region, the consortium collaborated with Innovation Unit for a 5-month co-design process.
This involved a diverse team and over 100 participants to tailor a Foyer model that addresses the specific needs of young Aboriginal people.
