Make an Impact

There are countless ways to make a meaningful impact through volunteering with Anglicare WA. These can include everything from supporting young people with life skills such as cooking, sewing and finance to busy bees where you can assist with gardening and general maintenance or first aid kits or home starter packs.

Whether you prefer hands on activities, mentoring, or behind the scenes support, there’s something for everyone!

Frequently Asked Questions

What skills are required?

You don’t need any special skills to volunteer - just a kind heart and a willingness to help others! We believe everyone has something valuable to offer. We offer flexible hours and ask for a minimum commitment of three months, with 1–2 shifts per week for most roles.

How do I know if I'm eligible?

All volunteers are required to undertake a National Police Check and some may require a Working with Children Check. If a volunteer does not have a National Police Check completed in the last 12 months, Anglicare WA can support the volunteer in obtaining this, at no cost to the volunteer.

Some of our Volunteer Opportunities

Thread Together

At Thread Together, we believe that clothing is more than just fabric - it’s a way to express identity, build confidence, and feel seen. That’s why we provide brand new, good quality clothing to people in our community who are doing it tough.

We offer a safe and welcoming space where individuals can choose clothing that suits their style, fits well, and reflects their current season of life. This simple act of choice helps restore dignity and empowers people to move forward with confidence.

Want to make a difference?
Join us as a volunteer at our Hub or with our Mobile Wardrobe (the Thread Together van). Whether you're sorting clothing, assisting with fittings, or helping on the road, your time and care can have a lasting impact.

Want to make a difference?

We’re always on the lookout for volunteers who are ready to break the ice, spark conversations, and connect with young people. If you’re keen to get involved, here are a few fun ways to do it:

Study Club Gurus – Share your skills and knowledge by tutoring residents who are completing secondary or tertiary education.

Social Someone's – Sparking conversations, breaking the ice and connecting with inspiring young people at community events.

Skilful Wizard – Got a talent to share? Whether it’s cooking, yoga, tax tips, arts and crafts, or something else entirely - we’d love to see it!
