Aboriginal employees from across Anglicare WA came together to connect, share experiences, build networks, and help shape the future of Aboriginal engagement within Anglicare WA.
Aboriginal employees from across Anglicare WA came together in 2025 for their annual Aboriginal Staff Network Conference, a two-day event dedicated to strengthening culture, connection, leadership and collective voice across the organisation.
Held on 13 and 14 November 2025, the conference provided an opportunity for Aboriginal staff from metropolitan, regional and remote locations to gather with colleagues, share experiences, build professional networks and contribute to conversations about the future of Aboriginal engagement at Anglicare WA.
The program featured guest speakers, learning and development opportunities, cultural activities, Aboriginal business and bush medicine presentations, strategic discussions and open forums to reflect on opportunities, challenges and the aspirations of Aboriginal employees and their local communities. The event opens the floor for sharing ideas on staff wellbeing, career development, cultural support, and reconciliation.
A consistent theme throughout the conference was the value of bringing Aboriginal staff together from across the organisation. Attendees highlighted the importance of meeting colleagues from different regions and building stronger relationships across the organisation. Staff also spoke positively about the opportunity to connect with Aboriginal leaders, presenters and the Aboriginal Engagement team, while sharing ideas and perspectives in a culturally supportive environment.
As Anglicare WA continues its reconciliation journey, the Aboriginal Staff Network remains an important space for cultural connection and collective advocacy, ensuring Aboriginal voices continue to inform and shape the organisation's future.
