Acacia Community Mental Health provides free support for people aged 16 and over who are experiencing mental health concerns. The service delivers individualised care from a skilled team of mental health workers. Our focus is on strengthening wellbeing, building resilience and supporting recovery through safe, respectful and culturally informed practice.
Acacia is part of a holistic primary healthcare system that supports mental health in coordination with GPs. The program operates within a broader care network, ensuring information flows smoothly and support remains consistent across providers. If you think this service may be suitable for you, discuss a referral with your GP.
Located in Karratha providing outreach and telehealth supports to Hedland, Newman and communities across the Pilbara.
Acacia Community Mental Health is supported by funding from the Australian Government under the PHN Program and commissioned by WA Primary Health Alliance

- Acacia delivers mental health supports in person, via telehealth and through outreach where appropriate and preferred. Office hours are 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

People with a referral or treatment plan from a GP aged 16 and over who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health distress or are diagnosed with a mental health condition. This service provides short-term support under a mental health treatment plan to build skills, strengthen coping and support their ongoing wellbeing.
Note: Acacia Community Mental Health is NOT suitable for the following needs:
- Emergency mental health and crisis support
- Inpatient care
- Long-term therapeutic supports
- Specialist psychological or psychiatric services
- Medication management
- Specialist management for complex interpersonal and emotional experiences or long-term patterns that negatively impact relationships and wellbeing
