Swap Your School Bag for a Sleeping Bag

The School Sleep Out offers students a unique opportunity to walk alongside 3,500 young Western Australians who go to sleep without a home every night — not just by raising funds, but by deepening understanding and empathy.

This year marks the 10th School Sleep Out — a decade of students coming together in support of young people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and advocating for change.

What impact will you make this winter?

It's the 10th School Sleep Out!

The School Sleep Out offers students a unique opportunity to show their support for young people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, not just by raising funds, but by deepening understanding.

Last year, 520 students from 20 schools came together and raised an incredible $214,912 for Street Connect, a service that supports young people in Perth with care, connection, and pathways forward. This year, we invite you to help us go even further.

By joining your school team, you’ll be part of a night that’s both meaningful and memorable. You’ll gain insight into the challenges faced by young people without a safe place to call home — and you’ll be helping to create real change in their lives.

Funds raised go to Street Connect, a service that works with young people on the streets of Perth to help them get their lives back on track.

Places are limited — register now and join your School Team to secure your spot and be part of something truly impactful.

The Difference You Will Make

Each year, students from our Ambassador schools take part in a special event at Optus Stadium, where they swap their school bags for sleeping bags to raise awareness and show their support for young people in Western Australia who are without a safe place to call home.

During the sleepout, students learn about the many reasons a young person might experience homelessness, such as family and domestic violence, mental health challenges, family breakdown, or lack of support, and how these experiences can affect every part of their lives. They also explore ways they can be part of creating positive change.

All funds raised go to our Street Connect service, which walks alongside young people in Perth, offering support, connection, and pathways to stability and hope.
